Q&A
Helsa’s examinations are tax-deductible for the company and tax-free for the employee.
Helsa’s examinations are tax-deductible for the company and tax-free for the employee.(1).
Preventive treatment refers to measures aimed at enabling the employee to continue working. As an employer, you are required to take all necessary measures to prevent employees from being exposed to health risks or accidents (2). Unlike employee wellness benefits, which must be offered to the entire staff to qualify for tax exemption, an employer’s preventive measures and rehabilitation efforts can be targeted toward an individual employee or a specific group of employees.

How to prepare
Rescheduling is possible up to 48 hours before the examination. If you need to reschedule your appointment, you have a direct number for fast service here: 08-120 667 10.
The entrance is located at street level, on the left above the main entrance. Follow the zone 5 markings along the floor to find your way.
Before the examination
You cannot be examined with magnetic resonance imaging if you have metal shrapnel in any part of your body, a pacemaker, insulin pump or other electronic equipment implanted. However, if you have non-magnetic metal, such as a hip or knee replacement or dental filling, the scan can be performed.
There are also other types of metal objects, such as certain clips and stents, that may present obstacles. Therefore, it is important that we are informed about this in order to decide whether you can undergo your examination. The invitation to the examination is accompanied by a checklist and instructions on how to proceed if you answered YES to any of the questions.
During the examination
The entrance is located at street level, on the left above the main entrance. Follow the zone 5 markings along the floor to find your way. Once there, register your arrival with your personal identity number and sit down in the waiting room. Behind the door with a yellow symbol with a magnet you will be called to when it is your turn. Inside there are two cubicles where you can change in one and lock up your valuables. If you put on clothes that don't contain any metal, you won't have to change, otherwise you will have to take off all metal. The locker next to you belongs to a person performing the examination before you. The radiographer will check your ID and explain the procedure. It takes 10 minutes and it is important that you lie still. You will lie down in the MRi scanner, wearing earplugs and/or ear muffs with music playing. You will also have an alarm button in your hand that you can use to contact the nurse. Most people find that they almost fall asleep during the scan itself if it had taken a few more minutes. Think of it as a time to relax!
After the examination
Results are summarised in a report and you are booked in for a review 5-10 days after the examination.
What’s the difference between the BrainAGE Scan and the MRI Brain with and without Contrast
The BrainAGE Scan is designed for individuals seeking preventive insights into their brain health. It uses advanced AI to analyze brain volume and calculate your BrainAGE, providing recommendations for maintaining or improving brain wellness. The MRI process is quick (10 minutes) and non-invasive, making it ideal for proactive health monitoring.
On the other hand, the MRI Brain with and without Contrast is a comprehensive diagnostic tool used to identify specific medical conditions such as tumors, vascular abnormalities, or neurological symptoms. This two-phase procedure involves both non-contrast and contrast-enhanced imaging, offering detailed clinical findings for those experiencing symptoms or requiring post-treatment monitoring.
Choose the BrainAGE Scan for proactive brain health management and the MRI with contrast for in-depth medical diagnostics.
Can I do an MRI Scan with metal in the body
Yes, but it depends on the location of the metal. For example, if you have metal in your ankle, it’s fine. However, if you have a pacemaker or any type of metal near the brain, you cannot undergo the MRI. If you have any metal in your body, please indicate it in the health questionnaire that will be provided upon purchase.
Can you do an MRI with dental amalgam, implants, or braces
Yes, but you might feel a little heat in your mouth.
Can I do an MRI if I suffer from claustrophobia
If you suffer from claustrophobia, please alert us in the health form. The examination assistant will be alerted.
The examination needs to be carried out during office hours and you need to be there 40 minutes before the examination. You will be given a Diazepam pill. Afterwards, you are not allowed to drive home.
About Diazepam : Diazepam is a medication that treats anxiety, seizures, muscle spasms or twitches. It works by helping your nervous system calm down.
Why is BrainAGE an important metric to keep track of?
This indicator helps assess brain health relative to age, pointing out deviations that might suggest the need for further monitoring. It’s important to understand that BrainAGE is not a diagnostic tool for specific diseases but a general measure to guide health optimization and proactive wellness strategies.
